Dark skies

Looking out of the aeroplane window the far reaching  dark clouds create a solid mass. Above the blanket of dense moisture the sky is unblemished in a beautiful tone of blue. The sun shines brightly.
Up above the clouds the light is almost blinding. You cannot look directly at the sun. You may choose to pull the blind down.

Those on earth rushing about their days, trying to avoid the heavy rainfall cannot see a glimpse of sunshine. They know the sun is there somewhere, but under the gloomy skies there is no obvious evidence. It can feel cold and dark.

It is Awesome when we can see God's love shining brightly in our lives, but sometimes life can feel so black, so heavy....the enormity of fear, sadness, hurt, pain, loneliness or anxiety can blot out God altogether.

Like the sun hidden by the clouds, He IS still there, He never leaves us or forsakes us....as the skies brighten up, the clouds slowly disperse, the sun shines again in all it's Glory.

I pray for you,  if 'your sky is dark' that the clouds will clear soon, so you can see and feel The Glory of God again.

When the rays of sunshine penetrate the dark clouds...Like a glimpse of Heaven reaching down to earth...for me, a reminder that God's love can penetrate a dark day...without the dark clouds..we wouldn't witness the beauty of those rays in contrast. Sometimes we need those moments of despair to see God's almighty Hand on our lives, to be reminded of His presence. For Him to shine in the darkness.

If you are feeling broken, if it feels like The Lord has gone away, please have Faith that He is watching over you, loving you, caring for you...wanting to pick you up and carry you. Rest in His arms as you wait patiently for the skies to clear, to feel the warmth of  His love freely, to be healed in time, of the deep hurt you are feeling today.

He is walking through the storm with you, wanting to carry you in your despair. He knows your thoughts and your pain...we cannot always understand the bigger picture, or find it easy to trust in 'His timing'...it can be hard to keep faith in times of heartache.

Like the sun burns brightly without ceasing, giving out the same light constantly...it is other factors that determine how much 'heat' we feel. The sun doesn't change, but our position or circumstance affect how we receive the rays.

God's Love is constant, never changing...in the same way - it's our circumstances - that can affect how we perceive Him. We may be angry at Him...frustrated...we may have been waiting a long time..our hearts may be shredded into many broken pieces...we may be very afraid, or in constant pain...

Hold on my sisters and brothers to The Hope in Christ alone, may you feel the warm gentle touch of His Love...His Joy, His Peace...may He be The Anchor in your storm... if you can't see Jesus clearly right now...I pray that You will know He is still there, He will always be there...He Loves YOU!

May you feel His arms around you today, as you wait upon The Lord...trusting beyond the dark skies..Amen.

For my dear sisters in Christ...who I know are in pain at the moment...with love, hope and faith...God Bless x
